Regarding the supernatural we tend to be strangers to it all. We’re like these rich kids born to royalty and we are out living in the streets, oblivious to our rightful power. But no one told us we were kings!
Oh sure, I grew up going to church every Sunday—rain or shine or sprained ankle but no one talked about the demons I was seeing in my bedroom. No one talked about deliverance or angelic intervention. So we, like most Christians, grow up ignorant to the supernatural realm.
Regardless, King God gave us supernatural power through a name: Jesus.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 6:19
Heatheraine’s translation: “I totally gave you Jesus as a key to the supernatural realm so your words have the power to bind or loose in the physical and the spirit realm.” That sounds like some Big-Time Power.
That's all fine and dandy but what does that mean in our daily lives? Well, ever wondered:
Can I request more angels to guard me while I’m driving? Yes.
Can I command the wind to calm down so a tree doesn’t fall on my house? Yes.
Can I command demons not to scare me in my house? Yes.
I know it’s one thing to say all this, but it’s a whole other thing to actually do it. But it’s just a matter of retraining your kingly thinking. Just like Jesus had authority over the wind and the waves… so do we. Jesus is the key.
Here are some examples of what to say:
“Wind, I command you to calm down in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Son of the Living God.”
“I command any demon in this room to get out so I can sleep without nightmares, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Son of the Living God.”
“Tires, stay on the road so I don’t get into an accident, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Son of the Living God.”
Whether moving mountains or mole hills, the Kingdom of Heaven is here and if you are a follower of Jesus then you are a part of the Kingdom. Whatever you speak into the physical and spiritual world will be, through the authority he’s given us.
"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:9-11
